The City of Lakeway Arts Committee Presents Kokichi Akasaka Renowned classical guitarist Kokichi Akasaka, visiting from Japan, will perform in the ballroom of the Lakeway Activity Center. Sections of the program will include pianist Maxine Gomes and soprano Nancy Parker. Mr. Akasaka honed his virtuosity while living in Spain for many years. He has won several competition prizes. He has performed concerts in Asia, America, and Europe, including venues such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and Carnegie Hall in NYC. The City of Lakeway Arts Committee - Did you know?

An Arts Committee was created by the City Council in December 1999 for the purpose of establishing a Cultural and Artistic Enrichment goal to “encourage, develop and promote the presentation, performance, creation, and exhibition of the visual and performing arts”.
